According to the statistics released by the Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, in August this year Taiwan's basic metal and basic metal product export orders amounted to $2.2 billion, decreasing by 5.56 percent compared to the previous month and down 17.16 percent compared to August 2011.

　　The country's basic metal and basic metal product export orders in the first eight months of the current year amounted to a value of $19.06 billion, falling by eight percent compared to the same period of 2011.
